I started my cleanse on the weekend and today was the first day back at work.
I’ve had one main observation – I haven’t been really hungry considering how I’m eating considerably less. Usually only juice/smoothies for breakfast & dinner and having a salad for lunch. Let’s take a closer look…
Breakfast – Ordered a green Juice made with kale, celery, cucumber, swiss chard & wheatgrass. Also a raspberry + ginger shot.
Lunch – Salad with Sesame Black Cod, Brussel Sprouts, Beets and Zucchini Hummus. I always dress my salads with just olive oil and lemon juice.
The fish here can be substituted with any protein. The Black Cod was baked in tamari, a gluten free soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic.
You will notice that I do eat quite a large portion for lunch, which isn’t exactly recommended in the cleanse, but I figure I work out pretty regularly, so if there’s a time to indulge in my one solid meal, I should just go for it.
4PM Snack – More green juice & another raspberry + ginger shot.
After work, I went for a 45 minute spin class. The spin instructor always says to go home and hydrate and have some protein in the system within 2 hours to feed our muscles. With that stuck in my mind, I went home and made my first ever shake with Brown Rice Protein.
Dinner – Vanilla Blueberry Protein Shake Recipe- 1 serving of Vanilla Brown Rice Protein , 2 tablespoon of Ground Flaxseed, Blueberries and Almond Milk. Blend and Serve.
So considering I had a full day’s work, went to work out, at the end of the day, I honestly really really didn’t feel hungry. I felt a bit refreshed actually, and felt really positive about ending the day with a blueberry smoothie.
Something else that I found surprising was that I didn’t really get any cravings today. Last year when I did this, I felt like I wanted certain snacks at different points of the day. Maybe it’s because I know what to expect, we’ll see how the next few days go.
