NYC: Yumi Kim Sample Sale Report, Oct 23-27th 2013

I first heard about Yumi Kim from my two fashionable coworkers with effortless style. I went to the sample sale last year in November and was hooked on the Yumi’s soft silky (yet structured) blouses and dresses. Most of her pieces are fit for work and play – it also makes me feel like more of a working professional when I wear it.

They recently had a sample sale 4 months ago in LES that I didn’t go to, but with this one being in Chelsea Market so close to my work, there was no excuse not to check it out. Thanks to SugarRockCatwalk for listing this sale on their blog!

I went to check out the sale a few hours after it opened today (at 3pm) and there was a TON of clothes to pick from ranging from XS-XL, with more sizes that are smaller.

Items are priced similar to how it’s been at their past sales, with tops for $50, short dresses & rompers for $60, maxi dresses at $80 and bottoms for $50. They actually had quite a few beaded tops, dresses and bottoms too and those were for $70. Not bad considering some of that is up to 80% off retail!

There was a huge assortment of different styles to choose from, including non-floral items which I gravitated towards this time. I ended up picking up the Penelope Dress in Ivory Beading for $70 (currently selling on her website on sale for $198), pictured in the photo above on the left.

I also ended up picking up another of their Lizzie blouses in Coral for $50 (currently selling on her website for $139).

Finally, I picked up another beaded item, their Elyse top in yellow for $70 (currently on their website for $202).

Yumi Kim Elyse Top – LOVE THIS! ๐Ÿ™‚

I tried to resist purchasing any more since I wanted to have some time for this to all sink in – I’m such an impulse buyer! There were tons and tons of boxes that were still unpacked, but looked like a mess that I didn’t want to dig through. As a result, most of the clothes will need to get steamed to get all the wrinkles out, but I don’t mind.

I asked the sales person if the sample sales ever go cheaper than the price on the first day and she told me that it’s possible that on their last day, they start having buy one dress, get one dress free type of deals.

Either way, I think it’s definitely worth it to go check out this Yumi Kim Sample Sale if you’re looking for some new blouses for work or floral dresses for play. I’d also like to mention they are having 25% off on their website right now for Friends & Family with the code YKFAM25, good till October 27.

Happy shopping!
