Sangria, or as one of my friend’s call it, Adult Jungle Juice, is definitely a crowd pleaser and extremely easy to make. My favorite recipe is an adaptation of the Sangria recipe at allrecipes.com. I’ve made this time and time again and is definitely a favorite in my book.
Red Wine Sangria
Makes 6 cups
1 (750 milliliter) bottle dry red wine, I’ve used Yellowtail’s Shiraz
1/2 cup brandy
1/2 cup triple sec
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/3 cup orange juice
1/3 cup frozen lemonade concentrate
1 lemon, sliced into rounds
1 orange, sliced into rounds
1 lime, sliced into rounds
1 apple, diced into 1 inch pieces
1/8 cup white sugar (optional)
2 cups carbonated water (optional), or if you want a sweeter sangria, add ginger ale or even 7up.
Look at the beautiful bright citrus! Beautiful. |
1. Slice up the fruits.
2. Add the Booze. In a large container, combine the dry red wine, brandy, triple sec, lemon juice, orange juice, frozen lemonade concentrate, fruits, and sugar. Let stand for a few hours for all the flavors to mend together. Best to let refrigerate overnight. To have a fizzy Sangria, add the soda right before serving.

Stay thirsty my friends!
