Thanksgiving 2011 marks my first official Thanksgiving away from home. My friend suggested that we host an Orphan’s Thanksgiving Dinner at her place. She would be the decorator, and I would be the chef. Here’s a quick sneak peek into how that went…

My pride and joy – a perfectly carved turkey!! |
Since it was my first time cooking an entire Hanksgiving meal (New Girl Reference haha), I decided to keep the menu very traditional and I am really happy about how it turned out.
The Menu:
- Roasted Turkey (prepared with a Chinese marinade)
- Homemade Cranberry Sauce
- Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes
- Honey-Balsamic Glazed Brussel Sprouts
- Sage and Sausage Stuffing
- Roasted Asparagus
- Cranberry and Almond Spinach Salad
A special thanks to my Uncle Michael for schooling me on making the perfect turkey and on proper roasting technique. Because of him, I was able to cook a flavorful and moist turkey with awesome gravy. No worries, I’ll be sharing these secrets on this blog soon.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
