The 4th of July weekend is right around the corner. When you’re at the grocery store this week shopping for your BBQ, don’t forget to pick up an extra watermelon or two so that you can make this amazingly refreshing drink!
This Watermelon Gin Fizz is everything good about summer in a cup. Sunshine. Watermelon. Gin. It’s all here! It is my go-to cocktail to make in the summer because let’s face it, who doesn’t love a juicy sweet watermelon? Also you can drink loads and loads of this and still free refreshed and hydrated in the summer heat.
There’s only a few ingredients that goes into this drink: watermelon, lime, gin and ginger ale. It’s super easy to make ahead as well so you can make a whole pitcher of this and leave it for your guests to enjoy. Or… just have the whole thing by yourself, this is a judgement free zone.
Chop up the watermelon, blend it and then squeeze a healthy serving of lime into the juice. Once you get a lovely blended watermelon, set that aside and leave it in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.
When ready, just pour the gin and ginger ale in, and you’re done! Everyone at the party will love you for bringing this cocktail to the party since it’s such a nice way to cool down on a hot summer day. Definitely a proven crowd pleaser. One watermelon doesn’t make too much of this drink, so make sure you get a few if you’re planning to have more than a few glasses of these. And trust me, you will need it!
